Which OS will you install into your Pine 64? - 7777777 - 03-03-2016 Remix OS is on the way to be created and may be ready soon, one admin said I feel like installing this Remix OS for a multimedia-like PC to view streaming and so on However I believe Remix OS will be more resources-greedy than linux distros for example... Anyways, which OS will you install, and if you want briefly explain why, thanks RE: Which OS will you install into your Pine 64? - Ghost - 03-03-2016 (03-03-2016, 03:01 AM)7777777 Wrote: Remix OS is on the way to be created and may be ready soon, one admin said You missed Android off your poll list. I will have three micro sd cards - one for Android, one for Linux and one for RemixOS RE: Which OS will you install into your Pine 64? - 7777777 - 03-03-2016 (03-03-2016, 03:28 AM)SkairkrohBule Wrote: You missed Android off your poll list.I apologize lol well people can check "Other" and say Android I think Windows 8 RT could be also compatible? (can't edit poll) and why don't you make a simple bigger microSD with multiboot? hard to install maybe? (can't edit poll) Multiboot is not setup yet, so it is easier (at first, at least), to use separate cards. Windows 8 RT seems unlikely. Thanks for making this poll RE: Which OS will you install into your Pine 64? - Tarjei85 - 03-03-2016 It will be Android for me.. RE: Which OS will you install into your Pine 64? - JulianM - 03-03-2016 I already ordered 2 Pine64+ with 2 GB RAM. One of them will I use for desktop pc with RemixOS or Ubuntu (maybe dualboot?) and the other one for a tablet with Android. RE: Which OS will you install into your Pine 64? - benpope81 - 03-03-2016 Some kind of Ubuntu flavour. RE: Which OS will you install into your Pine 64? - SkimMilk - 03-03-2016 1) Remix OS - just to try it out 2) Linux - if it works well, then most likely this will be the primary OS. Possible uses: online learning for my girl, Youtube (educational stuff), media center for movie nights and lastly to run game emulators for those nostalgic games! 3) Android - to experience Android on a TV. Most likely to use is as a Kindle reader / Google play store interface. (Maybe Remix OS will end up replacing this option, who knows?) Will be using separate cards for each OS. Partly also to store their own apps / files and find them easily. And the Pine should be permanently hooked to my TV I guess. RE: Which OS will you install into your Pine 64? - gbjensen - 03-04-2016 Missing Android in the list. I intend to install Android. RE: Which OS will you install into your Pine 64? - clarkss12 - 03-04-2016 I will probably use this box for my media center with a PVR function. Here is how I use my Remix Mini for my DVR. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=s4eRDBevj3c |
