RTC Backup Battery - CR - sbentjies - 02-18-2016

I didn't get a good second look at it. Is there a connector attached to the wires or will I need to attach one? Thanks

Can someone recommend a particular PINE A64 RTC-compatible battery, with the proper 2-pin connector, sourced from Amazon, or another reputable online electronics parts store?

Could I also just tape the leads of a JST-PH 2pin connector to a 2032 coin cell and call it a day? Looks like that's what all the RTC batteries for laptops look like on Amazon...

Yup. You could also do a macgyver, pull the white surround off of the two pin RTC socket, and precariously wedge a CR2032 battery in between the two pins! Big Grin Big Grin  The moral of the story is you just need to connect a 3v-ish power source to the RTC pins if you want that functionality!

Well, I didn't MacGyver it, but I did install the adafruit pieces with a couple of spade terminals and electrical tape. Seems to be working....
