Download images - daniel6610 - 08-24-2016
I try and download the images from the Pine64 site and they crawl so bad I feel like I'm on 2400 baud modem again, and I have 40Mb down! They should really look into more servers to download from. I just tried to download the Ubuntu image and it took like 3 hours and then the download still failed.
Is there anywhere to download the images other than the main web site? I am looking for the latest stable images.

I've not experienced the issue you describe (and I'm rural, with a rocking 10 Mbps DSL service), but its been awhile since downloading anything from the Pine download portal.
To answer your question, take a stroll over to https://www.pine64.pro/ I think you'll find it worth the visit.

Thanks for the comment. I am rural WI and I just can't get a good download off the pine64 web site. It takes tooo long.
The link you gave doesn't have the full Current Ubuntu download on it. I guess I may have to try Debian....

As CaptainZolo says, just download the Ubuntu image that's up (3.10.65 BSP at the time of writing) and then run the helper scripts that longsleep has provided in /usr/local/sbin. pine64_update_uboot.sh will get your uboot up to date. pine64_update_kernel.sh will update your kernel. Make sure you're logged in as a root user when running those scripts - longsleep doesn't recommend running them using sudo (although sudo -i may be fine). I haven't had any issues though when running via su. You'll also find some other handy scripts like resize_rootfs.sh which will resize the SD card partition to use all the space on your SD card.
If you don't have those two update scripts for some reason, you can download and run the latest versions by running the following two lines as su / sudo -i

I agree with DonFL. The best images are at Pine64.pro. Here is the link to download the files: https://www.pine64.pro/downloads/
Hopefully the performance will be better. At a minimum, these are the most up-to-date images available.
