swollen battery need assistance - mbround18 - 08-15-2016

Hello,

I bought a battery when the backer kit came around and when i received the battery I was sightly puffy than 48 hours after i received the battery it became very swollen. Does anyone know what I can do? I have emailed support but my guess is they are busy as I have not gotten any response.

Leave it outside away from anything flammable.

As others have indicated - don't use it - it's now a fire hazard. So just keep it cool, and away from anything flammable. Concrete floor, metal box, you get the gist. It should be replaced since as long as you used it with the pine64 and didn't fiddle with the charge chip registers (not that any of us actually know how to even do that yet?!?), it's their problem, not yours. Especially since they claim there is a protection board on it, which should have prevented that.

Edit: And if you are unlucky enough that it does go off... DO NOT throw water on it. Smother it, like with a cooking oil fire.

Get a LiPo bag and put it on a non-flammable surface in a place so the fumes don't go indoors. A burning LiPo is really dangerous. Look up lipo fire on youtube to get a general idea.

Call your hazardous materials | recycle center, and get that thing out of your home !

You've documented it, now get rid of it. (keep it cool)
