Access file systems - nanoprobe - 08-10-2016 How do I access the file systems on the A64? It's not like a phone you plug into the computer. I have an app called BOINC installed and I need access to modify some files. Actually you can... plug it into a PC... try plugging into the 'top' usb port... that is the OTG port/ no promises, but give it a whirl... you're using Android ? yes? It wasn't recognized. There's no other way to access the files? Maybe someone should look into that for Pine users. You have the best access available... just pop the SD card out, and pop it into your gnu+linux system... mount the SD card, and have all the access you want ! Also, if the image is rooted, you can put a terminal emulator on the system... I like 'Better Terminal Emulator Pro' Install the additional features, and then you can ssh and scp from the Android box to another PC on your network, send and receive files, etc... give it a shot. RE: Access file systems - nanoprobe - 08-11-2016 Thanks. I'll try some of those other options. RE: Access file systems - xalius - 08-11-2016 The easiest way is probably to either install a network server app (needs rooted image iirc) or just put the sdcard in a cardreader and open it with a Linux OS, maybe even just a Ubuntu LiveCD running in Virtualbox... I installed an app called ES File Explorere and after digging in it for a while I was able to find what I was looking for. Unfortunately the BOINC file system for android is not the same as Linux and even though I was able to add 1 file and modify another I was not able to remote in like I can from one Linux machine to another. I'll keep playing with it and if I find a way to make it work I'll post it here. Thanks to all for your suggestions. |
