Suspend functionality broken? - grump_fiddle_reinstall - 12-04-2024

I have a PinePhone and a Pro both updated fully (as far as I am aware) running mobian/Phosh and mobian/Phosh + mobian/XFCE respectively.

In the last week it appears that suspend functionality is now broken.

Both seem to sleep but when I try to wake them after they have been suspended overnight both have drained their batteries and I have to charge them for a few minutes before booting,

Has anyone else noticed a similar change in the suspend functionality?

Does sudo systemctl suspend operate as expected?

Even suspended, the PinePhone still draws a sizable amount of power. I recommend always keeping it plugged in overnight.

this is my guesswork, so i don't have any accurate information. but mobian on both pp pro and regular seems to use battery power more than before. i may have bad batteries though, i mean batteries have been used too much. postmarketos seems to be same than before.

Is Mobian now installing something like sleepwalk (which periodically wakes up the phone to check for Internet push notifications) by default? That would explain increased power consumption when suspended.
