Upgrade to Trixie Unstable? - biketool - 11-26-2024 Two questions... Firstly - I would like reports of people running Trixie unstable in late 2024 onward, is it ready for daily driving, how is phone audio, system stability, and phone call quality? Is the camera working? Secondly - the Mobian wiki does not give up-to-date instructions https://wiki.debian.org/Mobian/FAQ#How_do_I_switch_to_Mobian_Unstable.3F here is what https://repo.mobian-project.org/ looks like now, Code: ../ RE: Upgrade to Trixie Unstable? - Kevin Kofler - 11-26-2024 Trixie is the current testing, not unstable. Unstable is always sid. RE: Upgrade to Trixie Unstable? - Zebulon Walton - 11-26-2024 I'm not really sure what the benefit would be upgrading to Trixie, at least for someone like myself who only uses the phone for voice calls. The only things I can think of that might motivate me to upgrade would be if volume control during calls was fixed, or bluetooth audio was working. Bookworm has been pretty stable for my purposes. RE: Upgrade to Trixie Unstable? - biketool - 11-27-2024 I should be clear I am running Trixie now, it runs well even if 10 minutes of use can take 10-15% of the battery, people complain about my audio quality and I have no camera on PinePhonePro. If that is what we are doing now then it seems that the documentation about a working libcamera is on staging. https://wiki.debian.org/InstallingDebianOn/PINE64/PinePhonePro#Cameras Can anyone report the situation in staging as far as daily driver usability? It seems that editing trixie to staging and running apt update and apt dist-upgrade should work but I would prefer to get a confirmation before I break my install. I am backing up my PPp's / via tow-boot so I have a bit more freedom, it takes about 5 hours via USB! |
