Cases for PineNote - bills2002 - 11-16-2024

(will buy from store if you guys add it)

So, I need to get a case.  I see tons on Am... that fit "10.3" tablet.  None of them that hit the search for PineNote have reviews.  Im sure those are just generic cases anyway.

Case concepts:
- light
- lid completely folds away
- lid can prop up the PN at 45 degrees 70 degrees ...
- lid has keyboard...bluetooth
- lid has mouse device (track pad, roller, eraser knob)
- lid is nice (subjective but we all know what quality can be had from the internet...it should look and feel nice)

So...Im guessing I may have multiple.  The lightweight one that is easy to use and has no keyboard or mouse.  Then the I need to use this as a laptop one that has keyboard and mouse.

Also...none of them should damage the PN at all (keys pressing into screen when closed, ...)

I started this tread because maybe someone has opinions/suggestions/recommendations?

So I tried the cheapest plastic Remar.. 2 case. $9.95 US.
PN is too big. Trimmed out side but too thick.
Case was designed to snap in with case holding the tablet.
I think I need one that has corner stretchy holdover elastic or bungie type holders.

PineNote already comes with folio type protective case.

It does?
Mine did not.

I came in a thin cardboard box and then it had a very thin like grocery bag thin plastic bag.

I did not get a case.

Room is a chaotic mess and I cannot see the box but I will check it out.
ps- did you get the new batch of PineNote's or an older developer edition?

:palmfaceplant DUH

What I thought was a box spacer in the main cardboard box...turned out to be a folio.

Thanks for letting me know.

As for the folio...it's pretty nice but I think I may want a more armored one.  Have a dog and though she's too old to chew it, she jumps on the couch and if I've left it there...well my bad.

I think it would stand up to some abuse.

The pin fits in an elastic holder.
The folio appears to have a double sided tape pad I assume sticks the folio to the PineNote.
Appears to turn on the device when I open the folio.
The bottom right corner by the pine cone seems to be the sensor for open close.  Peeking under the top right shows it turns off when I close it.  Wonder if this is a light sensor.  More reading I guess.

Nice.

Thanks.

RE: Cases for PineNote - vlagged - 01-05-2025

I found the folio case the first time Smile

However I am not happy that I had to glue it to the device. Is there any mods like using magnetic tape, to replace the glue? Does the device have any magnetic parts inside..?

Or, is the Bigme B1 having any better cases? (I didn't find though).

I actually bought some magnetic photo backplates for selphy and stuck them on the tablet and case, let's see how that goes.

The magnets are not strong enough to only use them where the glue was used.. so that makes it a bit problematic for the folio case to act as a stand. But for carrying, the device seem not to slip out of the case and you can now pull it out to read at night without the case so I'm a little bit happier.
