Some keyboard keys type two lettters - lee19gs - 09-20-2023

Hi all,
My pinetab arrived about a month ago, and I will kind of admit, I am the stereotype that jumps into linux-based OSes while knowing nothing about them. I've searched all over google and couldn't find ANY results about the problem I am experiencing: My keyboard's keys aligned on 8 and 9's vertical axis all type two letters incorrectly. So for example, if I wanted to type "8 9 i o k l , ." it outputs as "98 98 oi oi lk lk ., .," Anyone have any clue what could be causing this?

Wow, that's bizarro! Surely a hardware issue?

I'm assuming you've tried cleaning the pogo pins (pencil eraser and/or isopropyl alocohol) and re-seated the tablet? Though I have a hard time imagining the connector being the issue, it's the easiest thing to double-check.

I haven't checked, but I'm assuming the keycaps pop off. It'd be worth looking underneath them for random debris and to be sure the individual keys are operating correctly.

But my wholly uneducated guess would be a little cruft shorting solder traces or key switches.

I’d second that, check for debris under the key-caps. I’ve been using mine daily at work since June without any problems whatsoever and in this work rotation, I’m typing a lot on it.
