Can the Pine Phone be serviced and updated remotely? - profileyourcity - 09-18-2023 Hi Folks, I am looking for help/service on my 3 Pine Phones. Can these be remotely serviced and updated? Does anyone provide this service? Basically, I would like to pay someone to update and service my Pine Phones. Looking for some superstars. Thank you very much, Jeff ![]() RE: Can the Pine Phone be serviced and updated remotely? - Zebulon Walton - 10-02-2023 As far as software it should basically be the same as remotely working with any Linux server or desktop system via ssh (maybe initiate a reverse ssh connection out to the person performing the service). Hi Zebulon, Loved your show as a kid, thanks for your response. Basically what I am looking for is someone to update these 3 pine phones for me. I'd like to keep them current and loaded correctly. I just don't have the experience so I was hoping I could pay someone to do this for me. Any suggestions? RE: Can the Pine Phone be serviced and updated remotely? - Zebulon Walton - 10-02-2023 Doing updates is pretty simple on most if not all Linux distributions. (For example in Mobian you would just run "sudo apt-get update && sudo apt-get upgrade" in a terminal.) A potential problem though is that if an update goes terribly wrong it may not be possible to recover remotely. |
