Is the USB 3.0 port still an issue for Q64 model A? - andreas1107 - 08-16-2023 Does anyone know if the comment in the development wiki is still accurate? From https://wiki.pine64.org/wiki/Quartz64_Development : Confirmed Broken
I got a Quartz64 model A about a month ago and am now wondering if some issues I've been seeing with my board may be related to the USB 3.0 port. Thanks RE: Is the USB 3.0 port still an issue for Q64 model A? - CounterPillow - 08-16-2023 Only if your board is one with a SATA port. If the SATA port is unpopulated, it should no longer be an issue. RE: Is the USB 3.0 port still an issue for Q64 model A? - andreas1107 - 08-16-2023 Thanks CounterPillow! I never enabled the SATA usage per the wiki. Do I actively need to do anything to ensure SATA is disabled? I switched my drive to USB2 and since then the machine has been stable even for long time of data transfer. This makes me think there is an issue with the USB3 port, or that the board has a different issue with high speed data transfer (e.g. getting overheated). But it's in an aluminium cooling case which should be OK according to the wiki. Temperature is stable around 66/67 degrees Celsius. This update fixes an issue that caused USB 3.0 ports to be slow or not work. Suika game Where can one find that firmware (update)? |
