original Wifi module on android 5.1.1 20160505 - galbez - 07-21-2016 hey, surprisingly, didn't find any previous info about it in this forum... got my new 1GB RAM pine64, installed the 20160505 release of Android image on my 16gb Sandisk card (couldn't install the newest 20160711 release, the same issue with everyone else here that it exceeds the card's size limit). up and running though, really nice. but - it doesn't seem to recognize the wifi module (the board-integrated one, not a USB). tried to turn on the WIFI of course, look for more advanced settings, plug it out and then back onto the board - no response. I suppose there is no terminal and commands that can be used on Android, unlike linux... right? so what should I do? I assume there is a known solution. thanks! RE: original Wifi module on android 5.1.1 20160505 - MarkHaysHarris777 - 07-22-2016 On the first boot-up did you let it sit for at least 15-20 minutes before poweroff, or reboot? This is important. Also, how specifically did you build the card, and from which image... ? marcus RE: original Wifi module on android 5.1.1 20160505 - galbez - 07-22-2016 (07-22-2016, 06:36 AM)MarkHaysHarris777 Wrote: On the first boot-up did you let it sit for at least 15-20 minutes before poweroff, or reboot? Actually no, I thought it would just work right from boot-up. also, today I tried to boot it again but it crashes (showing the "powered by android" frame and then boots repeatedly, the OS fails to load). I used the android 5.1.1 20160505 image, with Win32DiskImager after formatting it with SDFormatter. BTW is there any way to boot it without plugging out the power supply? I couldn't find the Shut Down button in the OS. RE: original Wifi module on android 5.1.1 20160505 - jodybrown99 - 07-22-2016 you have to solder the power button on that (probably) came with your board. then you press and hold it for a second and a popup appears asking if you want to shut down. |
