Pine H64 - rajsachdev - 04-03-2023

Just bought a board (in India), have tried various images on pine site and different power supplies and SD cards the board always gets stuck on

U-Boot SPL 2022.04 (Mar 01 2023 - 00:14:33 +00000)
DRAM:

it never goes past DRAM:

the date after SPL changes with different images but it's stuck on DRAM:

once in a while it give this message once , restarts and gets stuck on DRAM again:

DRAM: This DRAM setup is currently not supported.

strange message, please post the actual console text. Suspect may use wrong OS build, such as using H64 model -A build or model-B.

RE: Pine H64 - rajsachdev - 04-05-2023

Thanks for your reply...

Am using Images from this page: https://wiki.pine64.org/wiki/PINE_H64, have tried : Armbian, Debian: Bullseye, Bookworm, LibreElec, FreeBSD etc distros, all stop at the same point. Following same procedure for making SD card i've used for RPi's, Orange Pi's etc. I think these are images for Model B.

Comparing pictures and from the silk print on PCB it's Pine H64 Model B for sure. (PINE_H64_MODEL_B 2018-12-12)

Also have connected usb serial to exp port and am getting only following text on power on :

U-Boot SPL 2022.04 (Mar 01 2023 - 00:14:33 +00000)
DRAM:

Here is screenshot of the same:

Is this the console text you are referring to? or something else? if something else how do I capture it?

Thanks, have been trying to get it exchanged, but vendor has no knowledge and contacting manufacturer...

Tongue Big Grin   didn't realize this, then only he can solve my problem. @tllim help please :-)

RE: Pine H64 - rajsachdev - 04-13-2023

Strange, no answer from @tllim , if manufacturer won't help then who will? Am stuck with a dud piece and neither the vendor nor the manufacturer owns up to a bad piece! and users have to suffer, lost 1/3rd of my salary on a bad piece. Shame.

RE: Pine H64 - zer0sig - 06-05-2023

The H64 is an odd one and never got the broader support some of the other boards got.
Only thing I seem to have running okay is dietpi which is just fine, I can install/compile apps, run regular headless linux stuff or a light GUI, and with the built in wifi I don't need ehternet. Thinking of dropping it in an enclosure for outdoor use since I may not be able to do some more exoti stuff (at 3GB, it's plenty for running lots of CLI linux apps)
