Pine Phone won't boot into recovery mode - ninjapig26@gmail.com - 02-17-2023

I have a pinephone pro explorer edition which just simply refuses to boot into recovery mode. I am trying to put arch-arm onto it, I've flashed the microSD, put it in the phone, but I cannot get the phone to boot from it or boot into recovery mode. I have tried every method I could find. Every time it either boots into the current os, or the led flashes red a bunch of times and the phone vibrates a lot before just turning off again. I have tried multiple SD cards and multiple flashes. No clue where to go from here it's been driving me nuts all week.

technically speaking, there is no "recovery". you probably meant tow-boot's usb mass storage mode. if there is a screw up in tow-boot, you probably need to reinstall it, https://tow-boot.org/devices/pine64-pinephonePro.html .

you may have to use "re" button to boot sdcard, https://wiki.pine64.org/wiki/PinePhone_Pro#Boot_order .

Well I've certainly tried holding "re" to boot from sd to no avail, as well as every other possible button combination I could think of. I'm not familiar with what tow boot is or how to use it. I'll have a read and see what I can do, thanks for your time.

Please double-check, does the button label state "RESET" or "RE"? What is the exact filename of the image you were flashing on the microSD card and what is the exact tool or full command you used for flashing? Make also sure the microSD card is in the top slot.
