Cross-compiling kernel - illustris - 07-19-2016

I want to compile longsleep's kernel from source. Compiling it natively on pine64 is taking too long. Can anyone point me to instructions on cross compiling the kernel on my PC?

Longsleep actually has a lot of info on how to build his kernel and image on his github.... https://github.com/longsleep/build-pine64-image/tree/master/kernel

That being said, I build kernel and modules on the Pine all the time, takes 17 minutes for the Image and about 30 minutes for the modules if you build from clean... you need cooling though to prevent throttling and a sdcard with good random I/O performance like the Samsung EVO...
