Loud distorted speaker sound when connecting to power supply - myself600 - 09-15-2022

Does anybody know what is causing this? It happened today after booting back to eMMC from SD. Both have the same system image flashed: Manjaro Plasma 22.08 generic

It's still happening! It disappears early after the first speaker "pop". I speculate it may be caused by a recent system update.

A somewhat similar issue happened today:

Edit: This happens after resuming from sleep (lid closed) when audio stops working, which should be related to https://forum.pine64.org/showthread.php?tid=10496. The suggested workaround

Code:
sudo tee /sys/bus/i2c/drivers/es8316/{un,}bind <<< 1-0011

doesn't help.
