@elitegamercody

This is the one that I used: https://github.com/manjaro-arm/generic-images/releases/download/22.08/Manjaro-ARM-mate-generic-22.08.img.xz

It booted immediately for me and all of the hardware I've tried has been functional.

Hope this helps!

My device refuses to boot from this image. I have no idea why. Are there any other people with this experience?

I can only boot from 22.04/22.06 pinebook-pro specific Manjaro images for the bootloader, but I can't boot from the 22.08 generic. The 22.04/22.06 UBoot works but then I get a kernel panic.

Can we please confirm with certainty that Pinebooks Pro are being shipped with code in the SPI "ROM"?

Yes, they are.

I reflashed Tow-Boot to mine - I can now boot from USB. using the manjaro-arm-installer script, I now boot loop to the

"ERROR: device:'PARTUUID=0b... not found. Skipping fsck.
:: mounting '<identical not found device>' on real root
mount: /new_root: can't find <identical not found device>"

So manjaro-arm-installer isn't working either.

Is there an internal tool used to create factory images of Manjaro for these?

I can confirm the current batch of PBP’s is okay. I redid mine with Kali and with some work, everything is usable.

Do either of you actually know that there was code in the SPI before you overwrote it? I suspect there was not. This is the way all PBPs up till this point have been. If I'm right, we need to ignore the kerfuffle about the PPP. It doesn't apply to the PBP.

Edit: I did find mine to be blank, as I expected.

How did you get WiFi to work? Copy all firmware from Manjaro?

That is the quickest way, credit goes to someone else; I didn't post it here first.

Is there any way to remove the UUID issue? Every image I boot is asking for a UUID that doesn't exist. Don't understand why I have to constantly chase this.

YES, use tune2fs (-U) to change UUID to what it is looking for
man tune2fs
don't forget to update fstab and maybe extlinux.conf (I don't know about boot.scr)
