Universal rendering with Swiftshader - thefulla - 07-11-2016 Hi guys, I saw this announced today: Swiftshader It says this can be used in Linux shared libraries: Source Does the Pine 64 have any hopes of utilising these libraries? RE: Universal rendering with Swiftshader - MarkHaysHarris777 - 07-11-2016 hi, most SoCs ( and I think the Allwinner is no different ) are really a GPU with a cpu bolted on... doing the graphics processing in the cpu kinda defeats the whole purpose of the SoC in the first place. The emphasis should not be on making the cpu do what the gpu was designed for ! IMHO The emphasis should be focused on a video driver ( Allwinner ) that will make the GPU shine likes its supposed to. marcus |
