Getting close to daily driving - defactofactotum - 08-12-2022 The flash-it script is now working again for both sdcards and emmc. After an update to eg25manager several problems have been resolved, chiefly an incoming call now actually wakes the phone up. The display behaves correctly, wakes up immediately even after deep sleeps. Call audio is not great and the camera doesn't work at all - apart from that everything works, updated to 4.4.0.58. RE: Getting close to daily driving - acrux - 08-16-2022 So - workaround is to manually upgrade from 4.3.0.12 to 4.4.0.58 using usual procedure. Some quick remarks: 1. Still no way to insert locked SIM pin. 2. It is now possible to read e-mail. 3. Occasional restarts. Thanks in advance. There is special procedure for OS update: https://jolla.zendesk.com/hc/en-us/articles/201836347#4.3 In our case (in developer mode): Code: ssu re 4.4.0.58 RE: Getting close to daily driving - alpineduck - 10-18-2022 Hello, I tried out SailfishOS and found the UI really great, it's well-polished and reactive. Much more pleasing to use than Plasma Mobile and Phosh. On a fresh install, the camera doesn't work. I didn't upgrade because it requires a Jolla account and I don't want to create one if I don't use their software later. Does the camera still not work with the latest version? That's unfortunately a dealbreaker for me. Also, is there a way to upgrade the system without registering an account? RE: Getting close to daily driving - alpineduck - 10-21-2022 Well, I tried a call and the sound quality is indeed terrible. I also couldn't get the sound to output from the rear speaker, it would only come from the earpiece. This plus the non-working cameras makes it definitely too broken to be a viable option, I'll give up for now until someone can attest it to be working properly. When upgraded to SailfishOS 4.4, e-mail client can now open e-mails for reading. RE: Getting close to daily driving - mruser1 - 10-26-2022 Thanks for sharing! I thought a mail client was installed or at least mentioned in the wiki if it was easy to get it running under the shipped manjaro. Anyone any suggestions for a mail client? Anyone tried thunderbird, evolution, kmail, mailspring, or something else? |
