RockPro64 NAS case compatibility (Model A) - flocke - 06-09-2022

Has anyone tried if the Quartz64 Model A fits in the RockPro64 NAS case?

I am currently thinking about updating my NAS to the Quartz64 for a bit more power.
But I really like the NAS case for my RockPro64, so I would love to be able to keep it and just change the board.

Hi,

the Quartz64 Model A does fit the NAS case. However, please be aware that the Quartz64's RK3566 SoC is not as performant as the ROCKPro64's RK3399 SoC, so this would in fact be a downgrade unless you're after energy efficiency.

Yes, that's something I still have to think about. Better energy efficency and more RAM would be nice, but I'm not sure it's worth the performance hit. I'm using the device not only as NAS but also for some other services (DHCP, DNS via Pi-Hole + dnscrypt-proxy, Wireguard, reverse proxy, ...).
