Manjaro update, no boot, just noise. - wilmarcdw - 05-08-2022 I recently updated Manjaro Plasma and now I have an unbootable phone that just vibrates loudly. Video posted on Mastodon here... PPP sounding like hair clippers. Don't know if it's a lost cause or not. Any ideas? Either a bug or the vibration motor is shorted, both quite possible. My guess is that the installation is corrupted and it is getting stuck at boot at a step with the vibration. Please simply boot another OS via microSD card. Rough steps:

Make also sure to join the bridged community chat, such issues are quick and easy fixed there, while questions and replies on the forum can take some very long time. I must be getting senile in my old age. The wiki does cover the situation (troubleshooting) but not sure why I didn't check. Also on been on the pinephone matrix channel for some time. Oops. Anyway, other than some dumb typing mistakes causing delays and issues, Manjaro Plasma is back on the emmc. Also installed tow-boot and have Manjaro Phosh on card. With both working well, so far, I'll put it back on the keyboard and get back to business. Thanks again. EDIT: Performed an update while composing. That all went well, too, this time. |
