The next Pinephone - Dogman - 04-11-2022 Hiya, Yeah we just had a new Pinephone release but I couldn't help but feel there was something missing, is there any chance the next Pinephone may have a 120hz display? I really want to get into Linux phones but that's the one spec holding me off :/ On that note as well what other features are people wanting on the next device? When the Pinephone first came out, Linux on phones wasn't just bad, it was actually unusable in like 12 different ways.
RE: The next Pinephone - zetabeta - 04-16-2022 it's going to be compromise. some want more features and others want less price. some want bigger phone and some want smaller phone. if producer try to please buyer a, producer may dissatisfy buyer b, and vice versa. some generic things have popped up though. bigger battery would be nice, which also means bigger and heavier phone. some users will dislike bigger phone but because pinephone is such a battery waster, i think this compromise needs to be made. my suggestion is around 5000mAh. nano-sim card slot. adapters have caused issues, so going with nano-sim slot would be a good idea. price should not exceed 500 us$, at least not alot. in my view even 400 us$ is pricey. if price becomes too high when software support is low or medium, it feels like a bad deal. i would not go with 120Hz (or higher) display. increases price unnecessarily and 120Hz is (practically) only needed for (serious) gamers. 120Hz also needs software support. |
