The modem switch affects the connection to battery? - JohnDoe - 03-29-2022

(Sorry if something is wrong because I'm new here and English is not my native language)

As we all know, if you toggle the modem privacy switch the modem will be disconnected from the rest of the phone, but will it be completely powered off or only be running disconnected from the rest of the system?
It still drains battery?

do you mean software switch or hardware switch? assuming hardware switch.

hardware switch disconnects power to the eg25-g chip, technically speaking usb connection is there but powerless chip does not communicate. you could check thisĀ https://files.pine64.org/doc/PinePhone/PinePhone%20v1.2b%20Released%20Schematic.pdf . search for SW1-A. hardware switch will totally power off the modem chip.

software switch leaves modem chip running some way, which could be an issue some cases.

Yes, I was talking about the hardware switch. Thanks for giving a complete answer that includes the software as others may have this question.
