SFOS 4.3 - wryun - 03-08-2022

I noticed that CI is building SFOS 4.3.

How reliable is Sailfish now for calls and messaging? The 4.2 thread hinted that major work was about to happen.

And, if the camera is still not working, do we know why?

I flashed it.

Boots up fine and wifi works. Occasional crashing, usually when trying to mess with the data connection. Didn't try changing ofono as directed, but out of the box couldn't get the calls or SMS to work.

Email/Contacts/Calendar sync worked, and email app started, but when opening email it crashed (every time).

Me too, feels like months ago, and indeed it was January 24. Flashed to EMMC.

These Email crashes (indeed most likely every "WebView"-like thing in SFOS) are said to be fixed in 4.4, which will be released "soon" (i.e., Jolla style "soon").

Hmm, are you saying that also in Jolla supported devices you can't open e-mails for reading and the fix is coming with SailfishOS version 4.4?

Please excuse me being not explicit here. Jolla supported devices are entirely libhybris based, those don't suffer from this. The problem only shows up on devices without Android HAL.
