Phone not reading sim - For_lack_of_a_better_name - 03-06-2022
I got a micro sim, from the store, put it in, and restart the phone. The phone still says sim locked, and when I go into settings, it says no sim card installed. What should I do? UPDATE: It now says modem not available

what distro are you using?

This might seem like a stupid suggestion, but try flipping the modem dip switch off and then back on and then reboot.

I had the same issues when I was attempting to get my sim to be recognized. I was attempting to use the adapter that came with the phone. I switched to mobian and had the same issue. Long story short, I went to the verizon store, they got a new sim, popped the sim out (they kept sim) and gave me the piece that held the sim card. Put it in, instant success.

Received my Pinephone Pro today! Trying to get the SIM to recognize, just like in this thread, it reports "SIM locked", and then in settings, "no SIM detected". Now, I've been using this SIM in my everyday phone, where it lives in the smallest form factor. I tried popping it back into the adapter the SIM came in (a plastic card, nothing fancy) but it didn't help. Any ideas to what I might try? I have Mint Mobile, which is just less expensive T-Mobile, in case that matters. Thanks.

Hey, all. Figured I'd check in and see if anyone has a working SIM with the new Pinephone Pro. I get a message that says, "No WWAN Adapter Found" on latest updates from Manjaro Mobile. Not sure if I need to load a driver or something or if that's just a bad error message, but the sim doesn't work. Thanks.
