RE: Keyboard case not charging (or not working) and a possible FIX for both - Humid Stylus - 04-25-2022 I had the same issue, keyboard working but no charge unless I pressed the shell and phone. Since I thought I saw a slight bulge I got suspicious of the plastic "guide" pin in the shell. It would make sense since it seems the pogos closest to it has the problems. So I took a knife and remove a few millimeters of the plastic guide pin and now my keyboard shell seems to work as it should. I have no idea what longterm ill effects this might have but for now it works for me. It would make sense since it seems the pogos closest to it has the problems. Thanks for this suggestion. I started having the same problem with the keyboard not connecting to the PinePhone today. I came to the same conclusion after having no success with contact cleaner and reinstalling the PinePhone a couple of times. If I pressed on the back of the case directly above the pogo pins it would connect, but only while I kept pressing. I was looking at the keyboard case where the pogo pins connect and also noticed the rectangular locating pin. After reading your comment I used a sharp craft knife and shaved a fraction of a mm off the pin. It now connects easily with both keyboard and power. The only reason to have a clip in the middle like that is to improve contact on the pogo pins, but if the clip isn't engaged it will make contact worse. |
