Wifi doesn't respond - jmlich - 01-28-2022 I have troubles with wifi which looks like hardware problem. I have PinePhone Brave Heart edition. I have tried to run different operating systems, but - 20220119-0503-postmarketOS-v21.12-phosh-13-pine64-pinephone.img.xz - mobian-pinephone-phosh-20210517.img.gz - Manjaro-ARM-phosh-pinephone-beta20.img.xz In attachment is output of dmesg from postmarketos. And of course I checked hardware dip switch on the back side of pinephone (and tried to turn it off and on again). I tried to reload module, but it didn't helped: Code: rmmod 8723cs Where can I find more debug information? I can possibly try to check voltage on some pins of the chip, but some guidance would be helpful and I am keeping that as last option. RE: Wifi doesn't respond - bcnaz - 01-28-2022 Why such an old release of Mobian ? RE: Wifi doesn't respond - jmlich - 01-30-2022 I can see at https://images.mobian-project.org/pinephone/ only this version or weekly builds. Is that version unstable? I just wanted to try if wifi does work in other distros. I can try also weekly build of mobian if it helps. What logs should I attach? RE: Wifi doesn't respond - j_s - 01-30-2022 Have you tried the multi-distro SD card image? https://xnux.eu/p-boot-demo/ RE: Wifi doesn't respond - bcnaz - 01-31-2022 (01-30-2022, 03:18 AM)jmlich Wrote: I can see at https://images.mobian-project.org/pinephone/ only this version or weekly builds. Jan 16 release "should" work just fine, I have this on my daily use Pine phone and my keyboard phone, both are PMOS Convergent phones. I have done all the nightly updates as well, ---> but you could hold back the updates if you are worried about breakage. I just download the image and flash it to the sd card, ---> I have not 'attached' any Logs/files to the sd card(s) I have NEVER had any wifi problems using Mobian ever, --> even when it was still called Debian the wifi worked. Then it should work with mobian, but it doesn't (01-30-2022, 02:21 PM)j_s Wrote: Have you tried the multi-distro SD card image? Will that change something? I have made yet another test with factory image. See attached picture. RE: Wifi doesn't respond - bcnaz - 02-04-2022 Have you tried the multi-distro SD card image? https://xnux.eu/p-boot-demo/ [/quote] The multi-distro is quite "Cool" But it does have a custom boot loader, ==> so it WILL NOT show you how well a particular OS will boot on its own. It WILL show you some of the characteristics of those operating systems. "The Android test image cannot run your wifi", ===> that "could be" a shortcoming of that OS ? I have not tried that one. ( Is that Android test image for the original Pine phones ?) ===> (maybe try the original Post Market test image ?) My Brave Heart came with a custom Test OS from the people at Post Market. ==> (That also installed some of the firmware ! ) Currently my daily use Pine Convergent phone, and my Keyboard testing Convergent phone are both operating fairly well on the Mobian weekly release with all the current updates. (Not perfect - still improving) <<< make sure you do not attempt to use the Explorer Edition Pro phone release of Bookworm, -- the PRO has a different main board>>> There are 2 different branches of Mobian now, one for the original Pine phones --- and one for the new PRO phones.... |
