audio services shut down after short time on arch-phosh - pineuser0 - 12-17-2021

I was listening to music with audacious when after about five minutes my bluetooth headphones disconnected.
This also happened when the speaker was playing music, as the music simply turned off on the phone.

Audacious has a long-outstanding bug/feature request to inhibit suspend during playback.
https://redmine.audacious-media-player.org/issues/51

Until they add the feature you'll need a workaround like the ones in the mobian wiki. I'd suggest changing the .desktop file to use gnome-session-inhibit so that the phone won't suspend while audacious is running.

Hello, coming back to this problem, I've observed a disconnect from bluetooth after about five minutes of using the program mpv on an mp3 file.
I've also observed the problem occur both when I connect to the headphones through gnome-settings as well as bluetoothctl in terminal.

If you are using mpv, set up an alias to run 'gnome-session-inhibit --inhibit idle --inhibit suspend mpv <file>'
Alternatively follow instructions here: https://wiki.mobian-project.org/doku.php?id=tweaks&s%5B%5D=suspend#prevent-sleep-while-mediaplayback-is-active
You can enable the systemd user service 'sguard' to prevent suspend while audio is playing. It works reliably. However most clients like Lollypop and GNOME Podcasts now inhibit suspend during playback themselves as well. I've found I don't need sguard anymore.
