rk3399 AOSP 9 image - brb78 - 12-09-2021

My PP Pro explorer shipped with a build of AOSP 9. Not exactly what I intended to run, but intriguing. Does anyone know where I can obtain a copy of the factory AOSP 9 image should I need it later?

I'm entirely new here but I'm wondering why anyone would want android when they can have real Linux and real Java in their pocket with Manjaro?  Also wondering if anyone with a dev model has installed Java and how it runs with only 4GB??

you could try gsi's (generic system image). https://developer.android.com/topic/generic-system-image/releases

i do not have experience on installing gsi's, so you need to find installation instructions on your own. however, android images are usually installed into partitions, not into to the whole disk. pinephone (pro) is little different, pp image is installed to the whole disk, which means it includes partitions. aosp gsi does not have hardware specific changes, which means that some things work poorly or not at all.

there might be valid reasons to use android in some cases. like, signal client. axolotl seems to work poorly on pinephone (i do not mean secondary client). aosp android does not have google's closed components
