Can't seem to create SD card - blanius - 06-25-2016 After repeated attempts I have been unable to create an SD card for my PINE64 Pheonix card gives some weird error, So tried WindiskImager it fails.... Pulling my hair out. Using Windows 10 PCs FYI I have been able to create bootable cards for multiple Pi's, PCDuino's and others without a problem RE: Can't seem to create SD card - Boring - 06-25-2016 (06-25-2016, 07:27 PM)blanius Wrote: After repeated attempts I have been unable to create an SD card for my PINE64 Did you check the md5, maybe your file is corrupted. Try downloading a new image What is this weird error exactly ? RE: Can't seem to create SD card - xalius - 06-26-2016 Also make sure that you dont try to create a card with Phoenixcard using dd images, or using dd/win32diskimager/etcher/pibaker with Phoenixcard images... RE: Can't seem to create SD card - blanius - 06-26-2016 hmm. there are two different download pages, one from the main page and one from the Wiki. The Wiki has more choices. Perhaps this is were I went wrong. The main Downloads link (https://www.pine64.com/downloads) brings : Ubuntu Linux Image [20160501] based on Longsleep build, updated by Pine64 Suitable for 1GB/2GB Pine A64+ Board, not suitable for 512MB Pine A64 Board due to system memory constrain MD5 (Zip file) : DD86E696848C404D48BEFD4A24B8B111 File Size: 1.91GB Included XFCE Desktop, Midori Browser, Thunder Email, LibreOffice Suite, and Gnome MPlayer Download Here Login with username: ubuntu password: ubuntu Android 5.1.1 Image Release 20160428 [BETA] Suitable for 1GB/2GB Pine A64+ Board, not suitable for 512MB Pine A64 Board due to system memory constrain DD image for 8GB microSD Card: MD5 (Zip file): B1C7C22A28DCFDE485099B885C946052 File Size: 1.1GB Download Here Rooted DD image for 8GB microSD Card: MD5 (Zip file): 9C1AC73BD0794EFFB67C90A46D74B6E5 File Size: 587MB Download Here Remix OS 2.0 Image Release 20160415 [BETA] Suitable for 2GB Pine A64+ Board, can runs on 1GB Pine A64+ Board with performance lagging, not suitable for 512MB Pine A64 Board MD5 (Zip file): efeb178d28593d4d928f70c8506953a4 File Size: 1.2GB Download Here Torrent Download Where as link at the bottom of the page (http://wiki.pine64.org/index.php/Pine_A64_Software_Release) has more, I did not see the DD part so trying again. RE: Can't seem to create SD card - blanius - 06-26-2016 Now Pheonixcard shows success but the SD card is still blank when done. And putting it into the PINE does nothing. Shouldn't be this difficult Well looks like this thing will take it's place on the shelf with the other non-functioning boards. At least until there is a way to put an OS on it. And putting it into the PINE does nothing. By blank do you mean that Windows does not recognise the content of the microSD card? If so, this is because Android (and Remix and Ubuntu, I believe) uses an ext4 file system, which is not natively recognised by Windows and so the card will appear to have nothing on it. Inserting the card into the Pine64, you should get some result, though. So it may be a power or video issue, rather than a microSD card issue. RE: Can't seem to create SD card - blanius - 06-27-2016 Shouldn't be power issue as I'm using the supply from my Lattepanda. They provide a very good usb power supply and cable with their hoard. I do have one Linux computer here I can try to create the card with. I've made quite a few sd cards for pi and pcduino without issue using windiskimager RE: Can't seem to create SD card - DonFL - 06-27-2016 I've had no problems creating both linux and android images using win32diskImgr. I was going to try the phoenix card tool but have yet to see a need to do so. If you've had no problems creating other images, I'd suspect either a corrupted download, or something going astray as you extract the image. |
