Multi boot issue - generaluser - 10-04-2021

Hello.

I just received my pinephone this past friday.  I ordered it within two weeks of receiving it.

I have tried flashing the 2021-06-02 multi boot image to two different sdcards as well as the emmc.

In all 3 scenarios the multi boot gui does not come up consistently.  It just sits at a blank screen with a green led and then shuts off.

Even flashed on the emmc it just sits at a blank screen with a green led before shutting off.

I have seen the gui maybe 5 or 6 times over the weekend but I still cannot get it to consistently just boot to the gui.

Is there a hardware change or software change that I have missed?

Thank you.

No idea, but you should test another distro to see if it's a hardware/user issue or a problem with the multiboot image.

I have flashed to emmc/sdcard :

manjaro-phosh
manjaro-plasma
mobian-phosh
luneos
postmarketos-phosh
postmarketos-plasma

All of them boot and give me a touchscreen from emmc/sdcard.

I have never used the multi boot image but constantly use megi's p-boot for my dual boot setup. The behaviours you describe are not normal; you have not missed any magic switch.
I can only guess corrupt download or flash.

Got it resolved.

For some reason etcher didn't seem to be flashing the image to the sdcard properly.

I reverted to doing everything manually. I deleted all the partitions on the sdcard, manually extracted the image file with zst and then used dd to image the sdcard. Resized per instructions and it now boots to the gui.

I just assumed etcher could handle it since everything else I used etcher for (emmc, sdcard os) worked with no issues.
