How did you get data working on PureTalk? - nelstomlinson - 09-25-2021

I have a PureTalk sim in the phone. It gets calls and texts, but data doesn't work. I keep getting texts warning me that the 3G is going away; I suspect that is connected to no data.

Settings shows, under Modem Details:
Carrier PureTalk
Network type LTE
Signal strength 44%
Network Status Registered

Under access points:
Access point name att.mvno

Running Mobian Bookworm on the eMMC.

Any ideas on how to get data working?

That is a common mistake when "Setting Up"

It should be   Name : Pure Talk  and
 APN : RESELLER

and if you want to use the 'Hot Spot'
You simply call support and ask for the  Hot Spot option to be 'turned on'

APN RESELLER worked.

Now the Pure Talk SIM is in my old Blackberry, since the speaker died and I can't use it any more, but that worked in the Blackberry, and would probably work in the PP.

Now I have to call GCI and figure out how to get data working on their network, since I'll be using the PP as my daily driver, ready or not.
