KDE password - freeduck - 07-31-2021

Hi All,

I changed my password to something containing letters and numbers on my pinephone community KDE.
But the login screen only has numbers.

How do I change it from my PC over USB?

Hi, if you have ssh enabled, then just ssh in and change the password.
if not, if you can plug in a USB keyboard, then you can try switching to a tty ( ctrl + alt + <F1..F6> ). From there you can log in and change your password.
Alternatively, you could boot to another OS and chroot from there. If the OS that you've locked yourself out of is on the eMMC, then boot from an SD card, then mount the necessary partitions from the eMMC and chroot into it, then change the password.
Hope that helps
