Working suspend on Manjaro - brzegorz - 07-28-2021 Hi, just wanted to let you know that after flashing Tow-Boot to SPI I've got working suspend. Steps are described in updog's response here on Reddit: https://www.reddit.com/r/PINE64official/comments/n9fp6a/any_improvements_regarding_standby_on_pinebook/ The instructions worked for the first release. I haven't checked out the new one yet since it requires a SD card RE: Working suspend on Manjaro - wdt - 07-28-2021 Yes, I agree, towboot will do s3 suspend (with right kernel & config) However, it is NOT as good as BSP uboot, perhaps 50% worse BSP = 7% / day,,, towboot 11-12% / day It (towboot) will do a couple things that I never have seen other uboots do (beside menu display) RE: Working suspend on Manjaro - vssz - 07-30-2021 (07-28-2021, 12:36 PM)brzegorz Wrote: Hi, just wanted to let you know that after flashing Tow-Boot to SPI I've got working suspend. And would it work if running from SD card? Thanks in advance. With "pinebookpro-linux" kernel (5.7.x) I was getting black screens after wake from suspend, but with the default "mainline" kernel of 5.15.x at the time of writing, it wakes fine from suspend. I have confirmed that "deep-sleep" mode is being activated by checking "dmesg | grep suspend". I did an overnight test and in 9 hours I lost about 18% battery, so about 2% per hour which isn't great but is much better than it being "dead" the next morning if I don't plug it in overnight. Since no problems with sound, black screen, etc. I am going to stay with this mainline kernel and Tow-Boot for the time being. I couldn't get deep-sleep working in Armbian FWIW even with Tow-Boot. Since Armbian has dropped support I will be staying with Manjaro for now. |
