new PinePhone... dead pixel? - ~Daniel~ - 06-28-2021 Hello, new PinePhone user here with a quick question after unboxing and turning on my phone. Do we have any warranty on dead pixels on new PinePhones? It's just one pixel, but it vertically almost right in the middle, although horizontally shifted to the left of center.... so it's in a really obvious place. If it was off to the edge, i wouldn't be as concerned. RE: new PinePhone... dead pixel? - kqlnut - 06-28-2021 From the PineStore's ordering page for the PinePhone: Quote:DISCLAIMER RE: new PinePhone... dead pixel? - mouffa - 06-29-2021 even the most high-end products accept more than 5 pixels as a fault RE: new PinePhone... dead pixel? - nelstomlinson - 06-29-2021 (06-29-2021, 07:12 AM)mouffa Wrote: even the most high-end products accept more than 5 pixels as a faultPinephone isn't really high-end, and the store does tell us to expect some dead pixels, to keep the cost down. Right now, with beta software that mostly works, most of the time, cheap and available is a pretty big deal. RE: new PinePhone... dead pixel? - ~Daniel~ - 06-30-2021 Thank you for the replies... I'm actually thinking now it may not be a dead pixel... but rather a piece of dust trapped under the "film" screen protector... does anyone know if there is another phone I can use as a reference that I can use to order a hardened screen protector and case? I don't think there are any fitting cases from other phones out there though, you would have to go with one from the PineStore or 3D print your own (or use a sleeve). There is a list of compatible accessories in the wiki. |
