Slow boot on Remix os and Debian - djkatpt - 06-17-2016
Hello there,
I have a pine64 with 2Gb Ram.
Also have two images from the latest build for Remix OS and Debian OS
My SD card is class 10 with 64Gb.
using win32diskimager i uploaded the remix os image to the Sd card.
I took more or less 10 minutes for the system to boot into remix with very slow operation if i tried to make something like open google play or something.
The same appened in Debian.
I even tried to update the system to see if there was something needing update, but this task when it doesn't give error takes ages.
What can I do to correct this?
is it a Pine64 error?

From description, may be due to microSD card performance.

From description, may be due to microSD card performance.
I have tested in a Kingston 32gb Class 10 Sd card and it's slow.
should i invest in a u3 class sd card?

Class of card does not matter, what is important are random I/O speeds.
The card that seems to be recommended is the Samsung EVO.

my debian boot time, on samsung evo 32GB class10, is 2 minutes. that's roughly 1 min more than ubuntu or remix. watching it boot it stalls a couple times but i'm not sure how to trace what the underlying issue is. using a serial console gives me the same output as on monitor so not much help. the operation of this build is quick so that tells me it is not the sd card but rather something in the boot, like it is going through a process that for some reason does not complete but needs to time out before the boot can continue. there are start-up applications listed but i do not know how to isolate to which one it could be other than dropping each one for a test but wanted to ask first.

I've received a developer board (1 GB) today and directly checked a few things.
I'm using a Samsung Evo+ 64 GB microSD card with a 5V / 2A power supply.
I used PhoenixCard 3.09 to "burn" RemixOS on my microSD card.
The first boot time was something about 13-15 minutes.
Yes, the OS was a bit laggy, but a simple reboot via SystemUI fixed that!
It's the same for official Android 5.1.1 image.
The next boot time was about 80 seconds for RemixOS.
