Extremely slow image download - willyfog - 06-16-2016

Hi everybody.

I'm downloading the Android 5.1.1 Image (LCD Panel Video Output) Release 20160603, for 32GB microSD Card from the official page and it's extremely slow.
I've got 300Mb from my ISP provider so this can't be the problem.

Is there any other source or server where I can download it from?

Any is suggestion welcome.
Thanks in advance

I've been trying to get the HDMI output version for a 64GB card and it fails with a Network error.  My connection is fine, but nothing's connecting to files.pine64.org.

I'd like an alternative location too.

Thanks!  I am super new to all of this so forgive me if I ask inane questions.  I notice the wiki has a different android build for different sizes of SD card and whether it outputs to DSI or HDMI.  Will the one provided at the link you posted work for HDMI output using a 64GB card?

Pine64.pro only has the android build from April 28th and not the June 3rd with LCD support. Is there any sites or torrents to setup for downloading the latest versions?

Finally I downloaded using jDownloader 2.
It only took aproximately 1 hour for the the image I wanted and not the 9 hours o more from the official site.

Hpoe this helps.

Is there any reason why we shouldn't create torrents for these files, on our personal machines, announce, and publish the torrent files on this board?

It seems like it would become distributed enough so that everyone could download them quickly, without a terrible strain on any one connection.

I'd be happy to try this, at least.

We already have the torrent service setup and I will get the torrent seed generated on Monday or Tuesday.

FYI, I was able to get the HDMI output image downloaded. I now have my pine set up on the bedroom tv as a media device and it's working pretty well. Notice the screen shake thing when a lot of apps are open but it goes away after clearing them out to only one or two.
