PineBook Pro shipping to India - User 22380 - 05-20-2021 Hello everyone
I'd like to buy PineBook Pro and have it shipped to India. Unfortunately, the store says that there are no shipment options available. I've read a couple of posts from fellow Indians and inferred that we used to ship to India in past. Is the unavailability recent/temporary? I've contacted a local reseller FabToLab about it and they too said that the product is unavailable (although their web-store says otherwise). It'd be great if anyone can let me know if/when can shipping be available to India. Or why can it not be available in foreseeable future. (e.g. maybe because customs are rejecting it) Peace RE: PineBook Pro shipping to India - mackies - 06-25-2021 I decided to take a risk and used TipTrans to forward a Pinebook Pro to India, via HK. It did finally reach me. But one, Tiptrans were a big pita; lots of conditions and restrictions. and they dont provide a viable shipper. And then shipping cost from HK to India via ups and then almost about 40% in customs tax. so i ended up paying shipping+customs, an equivalent to original cost of the PBP. But finally arrived and kind of ok. Probably not worth it doing alone. Thank you for replying. I have looked a few forwarders, but dropped the idea because I thought they were risky. It's reassuring that someone has successful experience (although with some problems) with package forwarders. Pine64 don't seem to sell PBP due to global parts shortage. I have subscribed to PBP updates via RSS. I'll buy one as soon as they are available for order. I might go with the option you mentioned (understanding the risks/costs involved). Thanks again for you reply. |
