WARNING to future users ~ Order yourself a SIM Card Extender - Bonesdog - 05-02-2021

If you recently ordered a PinePhone64 I highly suggest you order yourself a better SIM Card Extender.

Under no conditions should you even ATTEMPT to use the plastic one sent with the device. Iv personally verified it Will break the Sim Card Slot due to how the extender is designed (Cheap plastic, rough edges catch on prongs)

.
One does have to be careful. Not all sims will hold snugly in the plastic adapter. I find it may help to put slight finger pressure over top of it as you slide it in to prevent the SIM from slipping out (and possibly catching pin).

Martijn Braam did a video covering inserting sim cards into Pinephone: https://youtu.be/SiQSJSrPqd8. The one some users have issue with is the nano sim found at 2:57 in the video.

I Agree COMPLETELY!

I currently have managed to get a SIM card in the and Registered to the Pins but am hesitant to take it out given It might damage the pins further

However sadly the SIM card that is currently detected im not sure if it 100% works. Currently looking for a way to install Google Fi onto the device (I saw a video of someone who had a Microsd with over 20 operating systems, maybe one is just an android os for getting the Sim unlocked then use defualt OS and see if service works...)

I ordered a different extender but the one they ship in the box is 100% garbage and should not be used. (The design has rough edges that clip/stick to the interior sim card slot)
