Battery level fluctuating wildly - thelawnoob - 05-01-2021 I started charging with a USB-C PD capable battery bank at 17% battery on PostmarketOS. The battery level was stuck at 17% for a few minutes before jumping to 50%. Then it went to 30% and 39% after a few more minutes. I suspect this is a voltage monitoring issue not a software issue. Have anyone seen something similar? Update: I made a while true loop to monitor battery charge level every second. I will report back later. Update 2: Charge percentage incremented normally after the 40% mark. Currently stuck at 89% for the past hour. RE: Battery level fluctuating wildly - cwdev - 05-03-2021 I haven't done any hardware testing with the voltages, but my battery does the same. It never goes above 34% while plugged in, and when it's not plugged in and just running on battery power, it drops immediately to 4% and slowly times to around 20% - but the phone enters a near unusable state. I'm just running the manjaro/plasma out of the box install, updated before use, but I have no taken much time to mess around with anything else. It looked daily driver ready while it was plugged in but it seems borked when it is not. RE: Battery level fluctuating wildly - Ob1wanatoki - 05-11-2021 I am having a similar battery issue. It was fluctuating wildly during initial charging. It maxed at 86% after being left plugged in during use first day after update. I unplugged and used battery until completely drained at 0%. I fully recharged it with power off after this and it fully charged at 87% and would not go any higher. Seems like a few batteries are not functioning properly.
