phone shutts down and/or automatic suspend - 112113101098101077 - 04-09-2021

Thanks for reading. now, sometimes when the phone is unused for some time. It seems to be shutting down. Only way to bring it back is to press the power- button and start it again.

Is this normal?

Is this behaviour due to the settings under "Suspend & Power Button" where "On Battery Power" in on, and set a delay is set to "5 minutes"?

That is normal, your phone should go to sleep mode when it's not used (for how long depends on how it is set in power settings), and wake itself up when there's a call.

Thanks, but it it seems to me the only way to bring it back from this state is to press the power- button for a long time. When it's ready again. The uptime is 0 minutes. To my knowledge it has then booted.

Hmm, which device revision?

This is on a KDE Community Edition (v1.2b). The modem is flashed (from the "Latest firmware for PinePhone modem!" thread) and mmcli -m 0 --command='AT+GRM' shows EG25GGBR07A08M2G. After I disabled "automatic suspend", left it for a few hours, and re- enabled it again in the power menu, this issues has not appeared.

There is off course no scientific proof that those steps actualy solved anything Smile

If this happens again, I'll try to look for hints in the logs.

I'm on Mobian and I have the exact same issue, except there's no way to prevent the issue, even temporarily.

So maybe it's not related to the OS itself, but more on packages we share...

yes, I drained the battery down to the point there appeared warning message and the phone finally halted. Right afterwards I booted it again and observed 3% battery remaining. On top of my head I can't remember if the battery was drained when the phone was shutdown. I'll sure look for that if this happens in the future.

ok, so my phone got stuck again. Booted it and it had 23% battery left. Only hint are these lines:

journalctl:

..

coredump list:
pril 17 08:46:40 petrov systemd-coredump[5965]: Process 3812 (gnome-calls) of user 1000 dumped core.

This time I think the gui crashed and not the phone entirely.
