PinePhone Pin/password question - dgdimick - 03-27-2021 It seems to me that when I try to change my password via the terminal, it also changes the PIN needed to unlock the phone, am I wrong? If so, how do you deal with a "complex" password? Example: PIN was, 12345 when I changed my password via passwd to "Ihatewindows" in the shell, the PIN 12345 no longer unlocks the phone. Is there a better way to do this, or is it a limitation of m@bain? Thanks, Denis RE: PinePhone Pin/password question - evilbunny - 03-28-2021 (03-27-2021, 08:04 AM)dgdimick Wrote: It seems to me that when I try to change my password via the terminal, it also changes the PIN needed to unlock the phone, am I wrong? The user password has to be digits only as the irksome security screen (that I wish I could get rid of) only provides a keyboard with digits! I've found that if you hang a KB off of the phone it will allow you to connect to it before the PIN screen, however, I have not tried to us a complex password as a PIN. I reinstalled Phosh, and the latest didn't allow me to encrypt the file system. I may have to try another disto, however, I've loaded so many applications it may not happen for a bit. |
