Wired headset with microphone - 3 or 4 conductor jack? - Zebulon Walton - 03-18-2021

Since bluetooth audio seems to still not be working at least in Mobian I'd like to get a wired headset with microphone for now. (I just get static when pairing my bluetooth headset.) I see wired headsets come with 3.5 mm jacks that have either 3 or 4 conductors. Which works best with the Pinephone, or is either OK?

I use one with four and audio and microphone are both working.

Thanks, that's just the info I needed, will order one with four contacts on the plug. Hopefully bluetooth audio will be sorted out at some point but that will do until then.

I just wanted to add, I purchased a cheap Road King model 910 recently (which is also a wired headset), I give a little mini review here.  But what I did not mention there is that it did come with a couple more plug adapters, for apparently different configurations, which I thought was pretty cool.  It worked out of the box though on PinePhone with whatever the default is without needing to use any of them.

By now I'm sure you have this sorted, just continuing to share what little info I have for others in future.  As this forum has been so helpful to me in finding little bits of info like this.
