3 Questions about jitterentropy-rngd. - MtnSk8 - 03-17-2021 After a bit of searching I still have some unanswered questions about a seemingly overactive running process: What is jitterentropy-rngd? Why does it keep a cpu core maxed out? How would I keep it from doing that? Any insight is helpful. Thanks! I guessing that you are running the 5.11 kernel. If you switch back to the 5.10 kernel the issue will go away. The other option is to switch to the unstable branch which has an updated jitterentropy-rngd package which seems to not hog a cpu core RE: 3 Questions about jitterentropy-rngd. - MtnSk8 - 03-17-2021 (03-17-2021, 11:32 AM)mark1250 Wrote: I believe that jitterentropy-rngd is a service that creates entropy that is used for cryptography as in SSL and TLS. I am indeed running 5.11. Thank you for the reply. I'll try the unstable branch first since kernel 5.11 allows my pinephone to charge at 3 amps. Thanks again! jitterentropy-rngd on the unstable branch: I'm marking this as Solved. Thanks Mark! [Edit] This is cool too: |
