PineBook Docking Deck charging port? - ColoBill - 01-13-2021

Piners,

I recently got the PineBook Pro USB-C Docking Deck and think it's really great!  I watched the great first review video mentioned in the last update and it was great.  The video is the only place where I found mentioned which port to plug my charge into so that it delivers it to the PBP.  The video states that it is the lone USB-C port on one side and not the 2 together on the other side.

Something seems wrong.  Here is my experience.

Port 1 does not provide any charging.  Ports 2 and 3 do but may not be enough. (see attached images)

So on my deck only ports 2 and 3 say charging.  However, I believe that they might not be providing enough power to really charge the PBP.  I'm checking that now by charging through the Dock while doing nothing on the PBP.  It's just sitting there without any apps running or windows open.

The usb-c port closest to the cable end accepts charge to power my pinephone. I think there was something on twitter about the pinebookpro and a software update to support the deck.

Same here, screen brightness starts to flicker high and low and is pretty annoying. I would be glad for a solution ;D

I am starting to using the deck yesterday, got it working for me the night before. And the HDMI stopped working that but then works again and works fine for me the whole working day.

Anyway, when I first received the deck, it's doing the screen flicker thing for me, but not anymore for me, and the HDMI doesn't works for me at all so I sort of give up the idea to use it or a month or two.

So I am using the lone USB C port next to the HDMI port and it is charging fine as the indicate in the notification bar.

Either the deck is having quality control issue or the software need to be stabilised, seems I am not the only one have trouble to figure out how to make the deck working.

And the manual provided is unfortunately not very helpful as well.
