PinePhone Battery won't charge past 89% - mfd141 - 12-17-2020
Hi All, I am a PinePhone noob, received it a few weeks ago.
Would anyone know why the battery will not charge past 89%? I let the battery drain to the single digits then fully charged it several times and tried different OSes with no success.

It is "as expected" - I can't find a link, nor have I paid particular attention to this issue, but IIRC it is something to do with working out the maximum capacity of the battery. So my attitude is sit back, enjoy the trip, and at some stage in the future a full battery may have more charge than a full battery today.

Yes, it's an on purpose limitation in megi's kernel for battery safety. More info can be found in this thread and the articles linked in there.

dukla2000 and kqlnut thank you... the PinePhone is not my EDC, so that is fine with me. I have enjoyed tinkering with it and, soon, I will get a SIM card for it to expand the tinkering.
