Pine64 support daleyed - gimy16 - 11-21-2020

Hi Community!

I've been enjoying the Pine64 products a lot, and I had not have any problems with them, until the Pinephone Manjaro Edition, so I contacted support a week ago, but I didn't received any answer yet. Is there anyone with the same problem?

I assume they are very busy, I only want to know how long I have to wait until I make another ticket...

Thanks very much!

Might help if you actually say what your problem is.

Hi! Sorry you'e right. Bascially my problem is this:

I received my Pinephone Manjaro CE 2 weeks ago, and I'd used it without SIM card, and it worked without any issues, when I received my SIM card, I installed it, the Pinephone asked for the PIN and it did all the process correctly. But I had no signal and I can not make any calls or send SMS.

I tried to use another OS in order to identify if the problem was from the Manjaro OS; so I tested the PostmarktOS , but it did not recognize the SIM card. I thought that there was a problem with the SIM card, so I used a second Pinephone (I purchased from a colleague) and the SIM worked perfectly (this Pinephone had not been updated), I had signal and I could make calls without any issue. So I thought it was a problem with the updates, but when I flashed the factory image for Manjaro in my Pinephone I had the same problem in my phone.

I wrote a week ago to the support, but I hadn't had any answer and I do not know if I can try something else or I will have to contact you in order to change the phone (I assume that you are very busy these days). What do you suggest me? These days I've been searching in forums and I didn't find anything which helps me to solve my problem, so I am reaching you in order to find some help.

I would copy the working phone's software to the nonworking phone.

I'd flash the postmarket factory test image just to make sure it isn't a hardware issue.

I did, and the SIM then was not readed, so I used the Manjaro factory image and the arch linux image, both of them with the same result, the SIM card was recognized but I could not make calls, so for this I deduced that in fact it's a hardware issue...
