eMMC Fails After Suspend - Lodj - 11-07-2020

Most of the time, after the device going to sleep and waking up, everything works fine. But on occasion, when the device wakes up, the eMMC does not, and disk requests hang. For example, if I had a terminal already open and type 'ls' in it, it hangs. As one might expect, the DE also starts falling apart rather quickly.

Does anyone know what the issue here is? Is my eMMC chip bad, do I need a new u-boot firmware, is it a kernel or userspace bug?

I've had this issue since I bought mine in May. I hvve scoured this forum and the telegram group to no success. If you figure this out please let me know. I'm about to chuck this thing into the trash. The hype behind the pbp in the Linux community is very misleading.

I had an issue similar to this with my PBP I got in May. I installed the BSP Uboot and that fixed my issues. Mine would also not boot up 7 out of 8 times I tried to turn it on.

Also, my PBP does not currently wake up from sleep with the 5.9.x kernel. Either disable sleep or go back to the 5.8 series.

The eMMC's do wear out, people have mentioned that.
