BAttery capacity - daniel - 10-19-2020

On the battery is written rated capacity 2800 mAh, typical 3000 mAh
See image in the wiki: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/PinePhone#/media/File:Bateria_recarregable_del_PinePhone_2020_edition.jpg

I also saw this document from Pine64 wiki:
http://files.pine64.org/doc/datasheet/pinephone/PinePhone%20QZ01%20Battery%20Specification.pdf

From the factory document:
rated 2800 mAh
type (?) 2820 mAh

So, I also read 'rated' means that comes from the factory description.  Not sure what is 'Typical' or 'Type' capacity.

What is a typical capacity? why is higher than the rated? who and how is measured? Why 'Type' and 'Typical' are different?

Just curiosity in case someone knows...

thanks

The PinePhone battery build for 3000mAH capacity. However, factory cannot ensure that every battery is exactly 3000mAH due to manufacturing margin and 2800mAH is what they can guarantee.

It look many OS has fixed the issues with the battery thanks to Megi
At the begining it was getting too hot, burning temps. Now is normal.
Also I think i read a 5000mAh is coming soon?

I think the monthly update said that it will be built in to the clamshell keyboard case.

Yes, the 'second' battery in the keyboard casing was mentioned,

BUT, I believe I also read, a special rear cover was in the works to use a larger battery on just the Pine phone.

So many different options will be available for the Pine phone in the future.

That'll be awesome if that will be the case. I guess all we can do is wait and see : P
