weird SIM card question - RodneyMyers - 10-14-2020

I have an odd issue witj mobian, and the postmasrkOS version of the phone

I'm using the tracphone t-moble sim card. and until the last few days, has worked dlawlessly

Now, on initial bootup, now the phone thinks it has a verizon sim installed. I need to reset the modem from the terminal, from this link <https://gitlab.com/mobian1/issues/-/issues/89>.

Once the modem resets, it returns as a t-mobile sim

Any ideas as to what is happening?

From their website:
[QUOTE] Tracfone Wireless is a mobile virtual network operator (MVNO) that partners with four major cell phone companies: Verizon, AT&T, T-Mobile and Sprint.

Although Tracfone doesn’t own any wireless network infrastructure, it has agreements with the Big 4 that allow the company to offer service to its millions of customers. [\QUOTE]

I guess is just going to the strongest signal?

I recently read that Verizon was in the process of buying 'TracFone' wonder if that is somehow connected ?

As a huge Monopolist type of company, I hope they do not jack up the price of service, or discontinue the low cost services. !

You are correct. I forgot about the purchase.

Thank you

I also have the PMOS phone running Mobian with a Tracfone/T-mobile SIM, but have not experienced the same issue. My network shows up as 'HOME' and the default APN is fast.t-mobile.com (LTE).
